DOLAKHA: Employees to be deployed for the provincial and the parliamentary elections slated for November 26 have been selected through lottery in Dolakha.

In line with the directive from the Election Commission, the office of chief returning officer, Dolakha, selected polling officers and assistant polling officers through lottery, said assistant Chief District Officer of Dolakha Balkrishna Katuwal.

According to Chief Returning Officer Prakash Kumar Kafle, 190 polling officers and 190 assistant polling officers were selected through lottery.

Earlier, employees and their organisations had pressed the election office to deploy them to convenient places. Employees with access to power would choose headquarters and well-facilitated places.  Kafle further said lottery was the best way to mobilise staffers for polls.

As many as 1,513 staffers will be deployed for polls in Dolakha.
