Poudel tells JTMM groups: Let’s talk

Sarlahi, July 22:

Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel today urged the three factions of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (JTMM) to sit for talks.

He made such call to JTMM-Goit, JTMM- Jwala Singh and JTMM-Visfot Singh at an interaction programme organised by the Sarlahi chapter of Nepali Congress in Malangwa.

“There is nothing to give and take between the government and you (JTMM factions). We all are Nepalis. Hence, let’s sit for talks and make a common decision,” he said. Saying that talks will be held with the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (MJF) and Chure Bhawar Ekta Samaj within this week, Poudel said that attempts of establishing contacts with them is underway.

The government is determined to hold the constituent assembly (CA) polls in the stipulated time after holding talks with all the agitating groups in Tarai, he said.

“Since the CA poll will solve the demands raised by the people of Tarai, dalits, janajatis and women, it is the major responsibility of the government to hold the CA poll,” he said.

Stating that those involved in politics of terror, murder and violence will be brought into the track of discipline through talks, Poudel stressed the need of a people’s campaign to foil and restrict guns and weapons.
