Prabhakar mulls ways to resettle disqualified PLAs

Dhangadhi, October 22:

Minister of Peace and Reconstruction Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’ today said that the disqualified People’s Liberation Army (PLA) combatants would soon be removed from the cantonments.

“The government is planning a separate arrangement for the disqualified combatants after the integration of verified soldiers,” Sharma told mediapersons at Dhangadhi airport on

his way to Kathmandu after observing the cantonments in Kailali district.

Sharma said that the government would guarantee employment to the disqualified combatants as per their skills and competency.

The integration of the People’s Liberation Army soldiers was an important aspect of the peace process, Sharma said.

He said that a committee comprising even the representatives of all the opposition parties would be formed to expedite the integration of PLAs with the national army.

He also said that the integration would be carried out in accordance with the peace process and the interim constitution and that nobody was against it.

People’s Liberation Army (PLA) chief Nanda Kishor Pun ‘Pasang’, deputy commander Chandra Dev Khanal ‘Baldev’ and Maoist Constituent Assembly member Barsha Man Pun ‘Ananta’ also accompanied Minister Sharma on his visit to the cantonment in Talbanda.
