Kathmandu, April 17:

Dozens of Young Communist League (YCL) cadres on Tuesday gheraoed the District Administration Offices (DAOs) in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur to protest the police raid on their offices in the Valley.

Later in the day, Maoist supremo Prachanda talked to Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula about the raid on YCL offices on Sunday.

Sitaula told Prachanda that the raid was part of a regular security cheek-up meant to avoid untoward incidents.

Meanwhile, the Young Communist League cadres staged protest programmes in Kaski, Palpa, Syangja, and Tanahun and handed over memoranda to the respective chief district officers seeking restoration of law and order in the country.

They also demanded action against the guilty and threatened to launch protest programmes .
