The Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) has elected Pratap Jung Pandey, director of Kailash Helicopter Services, as its new president.
Pandey was elected unopposed by the 25th Annual General Meeting of the umbrella body of domestic airlines, held in Lazimpat on Friday.
According to AOAN, Nima Nuru Sherpa, director of Altitude Air, was elected first vice-president, while Subash Sapkota, CEO of Yeti Airlines, and Umesh Paneru, CEO of Tara Air, were elected second and third vice-presidents respectively.
Similarly, Muralidhar Joshi, managing director of Simrik Air, was elected general secretary. Bal Krishna Pandit of Air Dynasty was chosen as secretary, while Rupesh Joshi, director of Buddha Air, was elected treasurer.
Members of the new executive committee include Om Harsha Shrestha (Basecamp Helicopter), Ghanshyam Raj Acharya (Sita Air), Umesh Acharya (Saurya Airlines), Binod Thapa (Fishtail Air), Prajwal Thapa (Guna Airlines), Milan Maharjan (Himalaya Airlines), Nobel Kumar Rajlawat (Prabhu Helicopter) and Phurba Chhiring Sherpa of Heli Everest.
The newly elected committee has pledged to work towards strengthening aviation safety, improving service delivery and supporting the sustainable development of Nepal's domestic aviation sector.
AOAN, established in 1997, represents 17 domestic airlines and works closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to promote safe, reliable and sustainable air transport.
