President Bhandari visits Daci'en Temple

XIAN: President Bidya Devi Bhandari visited the Daci'en Temple here in Xian this morning.

Upon arrival at the temple premises, the president was welcomed by local authorities, who also briefed her about the temple.

Located in the southern suburb of Xi'an City, about 4 kilometres from the downtown of the city, the Da Ci'en Temple is a major attraction for its fame in the Buddhist religion and its simple but appealing style of construction. It was originally built in 652 during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty.

President Bhandari is currently on a nine-day visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. The president is scheduled to attend the 2nd Belt and Road Initiative Forum for International Cooperation to be held in Beijing, the capital of China.
