President, prime minister greet Muslims on Bakra-Eid

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended best wishes to all on the occasion of Bakra-EId (Id-ul Joha) saying that this festival would help fulfil the national commitment of making a prosperous Nepal through socio-economic development.

In a message today, President Bhandari has stated that the Bakra-EId festival shall provide a crucial contribution to protection and promotion of mutual goodwill, tolerance and reconciliation and brotherhood adding that we have outstanding unity among social, cultural, lingual and ethnic diversities.

In a similar message, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has wished for development, progress and prosperity to all Muslim communities living in the country from the Himalayas to Tarai on the occasion of the Bakr-Id.

In the message today, PM Oli has said that Bakr-Id was linked to Haj, one of the five foundations of Islam, and added that this year 1,100 Nepali Muslims are all set to go for Haj pilgrimage from Nepal.

The prime minister shared his belief that the national goal of prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali would be fulfilled through the highest level of unity and cooperation wishing all to make the environment of unity and cooperation further robust with this festival in our country with embracement of the diversity of culture, ethnicities, customs and traditions.

Likewise, coordinator of Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal Mahantha Thakur has extended best wishes to all on the occasion of the Bakra-EId.
