President, Prime Minister extend greetings on Gyalpo Lhosar

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli have extended their greetings on the occasion of Gyalpo Lhosar, today.

“May this festival bring happiness, peace, prosperity, good health, and enhance unity and harmony among all Nepalis. Festival as this is helpful in strengthening mutual relations among the Nepali people. It will spread a message of peace and fraternity across the country,” President Bhandari said in her message.

Likewise, PM Oli said that cultural diversity is the identity of Nepali people. He said, it is a matter of pride that people belonging to 125 different castes and speaking 123 languages live in Nepal.

"Nepal in itself is a museum. The territory is enriched with such a cultural diversity which is not available in other places," PM Oli stated, pledging government efforts for the protection of this diversity and wishing for the happiness, peace and progress of those celebrating the festival today.

People belonging to the Buddhist community, especially the Sherpas, celebrate Gyalpo Lhosar marking the beginning of a new year.
