President Yadav stresses unity in time of crisis

DHADING: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav today said that the feeling of co-existence to combat the national crisis is the true identity of Nepali people across the globe.

Speaking at a meeting organised by District Disaster Rescue Committee in Dhadingbesi today, President Yadav said that the massive earthquake of April 25 and its subsequent aftershocks had saddened not only Nepalis but also foreign nationals.

“Thousands of houses and historical heritages have collapsed, hundreds of people have lost their lives in the country,which is known as the land of Lord Gautam Buddha and the country of the Himalayas,” regretted Yadav. However, the people of the land did not despair because of the calamity, but stood together to overcome the challenges, he said.

President Yadav highlighted that joining hands to overcome the adverse situation was the need of the hour to take the country to its previous glory. “If all of us walk ahead together, we can establish newness in the country,” said Yadav.

Immediate rehabilitation of the quake victims is a must as the monsoon is around the corner, he said.

Meanwhile, Minister for Finance Ram Sharan Mahat pledged that the government would not delay relief amount distribution to quake victims. He also directed stakeholders to receive the necessary amount from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

President Yadav expressed satisfaction at the details presented by the district disaster rescue committee and urged all stakeholders to devote themselves for the sake of quake victims.

President Yadav arrived in Dhadingbesi today as a part of his visit to the worst quake-hit districts.
