KATHMANDU: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has urged the agitating parties to be careful towards social and communal harmony in the Tarai-Madhes region.

In a meeting with the chairman of Tarai Madhes Democratic Party, Mahantha Thakur, on Saturday, the Head of the State further stressed on dialogue to resolve the differences over the new Constitution.

Suggesting the agitating parties to shun violence, the President further asked leader Thakur to take initiative for dialogue with the state and the major parties.

President Dr Yadav separately met UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the President's House, Sheetal Niwas, today.
