PM Dahal holds "candid talks" with UML Chairman Oli
KATHMANDU: A day after lawmakers of ruling parties moved an impeachment motion against Chief Justice Sushila Karki, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a meeting with the chairman of main opposition CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, on Monday.
In the meeting held at Speaker Onsari Gharti's office in Singhadarbar, the two leaders held candid talks on the existing political situation, the PM's Secretariat said in a statement.
Prime Minister Dahal reportedly asked his predecessor to support the government on Constitution Amendment Bill, the impeachment motion against Karki, local level elections and annual budget.
He further told Oli that the local level elections in three provinces, scheduled for May 14, would not be affected at all by the new developments.
