PM extends greetings on Teej

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended best wishes to all Nepali sisters on the occasion of Haritalika Teej today.

In a message of best wishes delivered today, Prime Minister said the Teej festival may inspire all women to move ahead in unison.

Various festivals celebrated in the multi-cultural, multi-religious and multi-ethnic country like Nepal help consolidate the bonding of entire Nepali people, reads the message from the PM.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to keep the fundamental values of the Teej festival intact in the name of making it time relevant.

"Teej festival should not be made expensive and high-sounding by brushing aside its values", PM said in the message, adding, "The festival somewhat has carried a history of women liberation. So, it should be preserved and kept intact accordingly".
