KATHMANDU, JULY 4
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today inducted three ministers from the Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal into his Cabinet.
JSP-N lawmakers Mohmmad Ishtiyaq Rayi, Pradip Yadav, and Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav were inducted in the Cabinet as ministers of physical infrastructure and transport, forest and environment, and agriculture and livestock development, respectively.
President Bidhya Devi Bhandari swore-in the newly inducted ministers in the evening in the presence of Prime Minister Deuba.
The PM decided to reshuffle the Cabinet after JSP-N Chair Upendra Yadav informed him of his party's decision to recall three ministers - Renu Kumari Yadav, Mahendra Ray Yadav, and Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav. Renu Kumari was physical infrastructure and transport minister, Mahendra Ray Yadav was agriculture and livestock minister, and Ram Sahay Yadav was forest and environment minister.
Minister of Federal Affairs and General Administration Rajendra Shrestha was not recalled and continues to hold the same portfolio.
This is the second time in a week that Deuba has reshuffled his Cabinet. A few days ago the PM had inducted four ministers from the CPN (Unified Socialist).
The Baburam Bhattarai faction of the JSP-N is opposed to the party's decision to recall its ministers from the Cabinet.
