"Primary development of children should be top priority"
NEPALGUNJ: Various stakeholders stressed the need to put overall development of children on priority to prepare the base for country's development.
The stakeholders held a workshop 'Enhancement of Multi-Stakeholders Investment on Primary Child Care and Development Programme', organised here by Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City in collaboration with UNICEF, Plan Nepal, Save the Children and District Education Office, on Thursday.
On the occasion, the participants asked the state agencies to prioritise the plans of children development in its policy and programmes.
At the programme, child expert Dr Kishor Shrestha and Dr Deepu Shakya of UNICEF had presented a working paper on the 'Importance, need, rationale and investment of primary child development'.
Likewise, acting Executive Director of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City Mohan Hamal and Manju Wagle of UNICEF presented a working paper on 'Multi-stakeholders' child care, primary care and role of child friendly local governance for child development.'
