Private sector urged to invest in industries in Gandaki Province

Gandaki Province Chief Minister Prithivi Subba Gurung has urged the private sector to invest in industries without any hesitation.

Inaugurating Safal Expo Pokhara organised by Pokhara Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Pokhara today, CM Gurung said the provincial government would create investment-friendly environment by developing infrastructure required for establishment of industries.

“We are working to make Gandaki Province a self-sufficient province in terms of food production within five years,” CM Gurung said. He added that budget had been allocated for modernising the agriculture sector.

“The province government is preparing to establish modern laboratory to test the quality of food products,” CM Gurung said.

CM Gurung claimed corruption would be checked as the province now could have its own police force. He said implementation of the federal system had ensured development and prosperity in the country.

Former Chair of Federation of Nepali Chambers of Commerce and Industry Ananda Raj Mulmi said it was necessary to curb corruption.

Pokhara Chambers of Commerce and Industry informed that the expo would end on December 10.

It said the expo aimed to promote industry, handicraft items, information technology, education, health, tourism, and agricultural products, among other things.
