KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 5
A committee formed by the government to probe into the performance of Electricity Regulation Commission has given a deadline of seven days to the Commission's Chairperson Dilli Bahadur Singh to submit a written clarification.
As stated in a public notice released today, action will be taken as per the legal guidelines if the clarification is not submitted within the given deadline.
The government had formed the committee citing poor performance of office-bearers at the commission.
The committee issued a public notice as the commission's Chairperson Singh refused to submit clarification despite the committee's repeated requests.
The committee has asked Singh to submit his clarification via email as per clause 105 (21) of the Civil Code (Work Procedure).
The committee yesterday sent an email to Singh seeking clarification and made public the issue today. The committee has directed Singh to submit his clarification within the given deadline or face legal action for failing to do so.
The Council of Ministers had formed a three-member probe panel led by former chief judge Prakash Chandra Gajurel of Appellate Court.
After formation of the probe panel, the chairperson and other members of the commission are automatically suspended from their position.
