Project to electrify remote villages

The Alternate Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) has initiated works under the Renewable Energy Project (REP) to provide electricity in rural areas of the far western development region.

The AEPC has launched the project, with financial assistance of the European Union, to supply electricity in remote villages of Darchula, Bajhang, Achham, Doti and Bajura districts within five years, the regional office of REP in Doti said.

The project is launched with an objective of reducing poverty by providing the facility of renewable energy, said central representative of the programme, Mahendra Prasad Sitaula.
