Property worth 6 mln gutted in Bhojpur fire

BHOJPUR: Property worth around Rs 6 million were destroyed in a fire that gutted the house belonging to ward chairperson of Bhojpur Municipality-7 in Bhojpur district.

According to police, a gas leak in the kitchen caught fire and spread throughout the house belonging to ward chair Jaya Bahadur Tamang in Dandagaun Chayangbeni Chok.

The fire that started at 3:15 pm on Sunday gutted a grocery store belonging to Balkumari Tamang and a guest house belonging to Dilip Kumar Tamang that were being operated in the building.

Police with the help of Nepal Army personnel, locals and fire engines from Bhojpur Municipality doused the fire after half an hour's effort.
