Siraha, March 25:

An armed gang of dacoits looted property worth Rs 1.3 million from five houses at Bhediya- 8 and 9 in Siraha last night.

Some 16 masked dacoits looted Rs 1.1 million in cash and gold ornament worth Rs 200,000 from the houses of Raj Dev Sunar, Pulkit Shah Sunar, Dev Narayan Sunar of Bhediya- 8 and Jaya Krishna Shah Sunar and Ramesh Shah Sunar of Bhediya-9 around midnight, a local Shyam Lal Shah Sunar said.

He added that Dev Narayan Sunar was injured when retaliating the dacoits and is undergoing treatment in a local sub-heath post.

Meanwhile, the Siraha district police office said it had not received any information of the incident yet.
