DHADING: Property worth over Rs 2.5 million was gutted in a fire in Mahadev Besi of Dhading district on Sunday afternoon.

Valuables including clothes and important documents were completely destroyed in the fire that broke out at a store belonging to Surya Bahadur Ghale, a permanent resident of Mahadev Besi Bazaar in Thankre VDC-3 of the district.

Police are yet to identify the cause behind the fire.

Locals with the help of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel are still trying hard to douse the fire.

Locals complained that containing fires in the area was often problematic as no fire brigade was available nearby.
