LAHAN, APRIL 24
Property worth Rs sixty lakh was destroyed after a fire spread from a house belonging to Rabindra Sah in Laxmipur Patari Rural Municipality, Siraha, last night.
Police said the property of eight families of Sah and his brother was destroyed in the blaze. No human casualty has been reported, said police. Police said that food grains, clothes, utensils and cash, among other items, were destroyed in the blaze.
Property worth Rs six lakh of Sachindra Sah, Rs 10 lakh and 50,000 in cash of Birendra Sah, 10 lakh including three lakh in cash of Aananda Sah, six lakh of Lale Sah, five 560,000 cash of Dhirendra Sha, four lakh of Laxmun Sah, 15 lakh of Ram Lochan Sah, including rice mills, and four lakh cash was destroyed in the blaze.
The fire had broken out when there as no one in the house.
A fire truck from Lahan Municipality had brought the fire under control after an hour, said police. The rural municipality has provided 25 kg rice, two kg pulses, two kg salt, one litre cooking oil, soaps, and tents, among others, to the fire victims.
