MAHOTTARI: Property worth around Rs 7 million was destroyed when a fire broke out at a sugarcane farm in Ramnagar of Gaushala Municipality, Mahottari district on Friday.

The fire, started from the farm of Dasharath Mahato, destroyed sugarcane planted by 60 farmers, including Rambilas Mahato, Tirtharaj Dhimal, Sanjay Regmi and Ramhari Regmi, according Inspector Machhindra Babu KC of the Area Police Office, Gaushala.

The fire was taken under control with the help of a fire engine belonging to the Everest Sugar Mill after two hours.
