Kathmandu, December 15:

The Ministry of Education and Sports today sent a proposal to the Ministry of Finance detailing the amount of funds required to appoint 62,954 teachers at the primary, lower secondary and secondary levels, according to Dr Mangal Siddhi Manandhar, minister for Education and Sports.

“On recommendation of the Department of Education, we have asked for the immediate release of funds to fill all the vacant posts for teachers,” said Manandhar, adding that the provision is expected to address the problems regarding free competition of teachers.

There are 38,390 vacant posts for teachers.
