‘Prosperity achievable if people cooperate with government’

Bhairahawa, November 19

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal said the provincial headquarters could also be selected by keeping in mind convenience as one of the factors.

“It’s not necessary that the place we select as headquarters should be rich in infrastructure. We could also select the headquarters on the basis of how accessible the place is to all living in the province. Infrastructure can be developed later,” Dahal said, while inaugurating the Fifth Lumbini Tourism Promotion and Industrial Trade and Agriculture festival today.

The former prime minister dwelt on the existing discontent among people over  the government’s performance and argued that it was not uncommon among people to express concern about development of their country. “I’ve heard people complaining about the performance of the government and that’s not at all surprising. Development and prosperity is not a big deal and can be achieved easily if people and all political stakeholders are ready to cooperate with the government in its efforts,” he observed.

The festival has a total of 400 stalls, including replicas of the Mayadevi and Pashupatinath temples. According to the festival treasurer Sachin Rokka, 300,000 visitors are expected at the festival that will last until December 2 from November 19.

The expected transaction is estimated to be Rs 250 million. The festival is organised by Industry Trade Organisation

Rupandehi and Chamber of Commerce.
