Prosperity stressed

LAMJUNG: CPN-UML standing committee member Shankar Pokhrel said people’s rights  should be used for the prosperity of the country.

Speaking at his  party’s function in Lamjung on Sunday, he said the rights that have been  ensured after promulgation of the constitution should be utilised for  socio-economic transformation of the country.

Reminding that Nepalis had  to struggle for more than six decades to achieve their rights, he said  people should use those rights for the prosperity of the land.

“Until  the country is strong and self-reliant, people’s rights cannot be  ensured,” he clarified, adding, “Relieving the country from the present  crisis and heading towards the path of prosperity is the need of the  hour.

The incumbent government has been preparing various long-term  plans to push the country up in terms of economy and development,” he  said Pokhrel was of the opinion that leaders needed to rectify their  past mistakes.
