Prov 4 holds huge prospects of religious tourism: CM Gurung

POKHARA: Chief Minister of Province 4 Prithvi Subba Gurung has remarked that the number of religious tourists visiting Muktinath Temple and Damodar Lake can be hiked with the expansion of Jomsom Airport in Mustang district.

Initiating an international conference on promotion of tourism on Friday, CM Gurung said that posing Fewa Lake and Machhapuchhre as major tourist attractions would not suffice anymore. Moreover, the province needs infrastructures such as international airport, wide roads, well managed and modern parks among others, added Gurung.

“We have moved forward with a campaign to bring in 2.5 million tourists to Nepal in 2025,” the Chief Minister said, “Every citizen of the Province must be responsible to realise prosperity through tourism, water resources, agriculture and mining.”

The international conference on accessible adventure is being attended by representatives from different organizations of 10 countries including India, America, United Kingdom. Likewise, the conference has housed more than 70 differently able people.
