BIRATNAGAR: A meeting held between representative parties of Provincial Assembly of Province 1 has agreed on the election date of house speaker and deputy speaker while taking multiple decisions pertaining to conducting first assembly on February 5, 2018.

Furthermore, the discussion held at District Coordination Committee led by eldest house member Om Prakash Sarabhagi has decided to elect house speaker on February 12, 2018 and deputy speaker on February 15, 2018.

According to Joint Secretary at Federal Secretariat, Sahajit Rai, both the elections will be held at 1 PM on the slated dates while the nominations will be filed a day before the election.

Likewise, the meeting has endorsed the interim procedure for running the provincial assembly while forming a five member committee to assist the house speaker.

The Committee has one province assembly member each from CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, CPN Maoist Centre, Federal Socialist Forum and Federal Democratic National Forum.
