DHARAN, JUNE 13

Province 1 Assembly passed the government's policy and programmes for the fiscal year 2021-22 today.

The passage of the government's policy and programmes has paved the way for the government to bring the budget for the next fiscal.

The CPN-UML Province1 government had issued a whip to its lawmakers to vote for the policy and programmes.

After UML lawmakers close to Madhav Nepal came together with the establishment side, the policy and programmes had passed the Provincial Assembly floor.

Though opposition parties Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Centre, and Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal had registered separate amendment proposals to the policy and programmes, their proposals were rejected by the majority of lawmakers.

Province Governor Somnath Pyashi had presented the government's policy and programmes in the Provincial Assembly four days ago.

The government's policy and programmes for the next fiscal accords top priority to the health sector.

After the voting, the speaker had announced that the policy and programmes had been passed.
