Province 3 PA holds maiden meeting

The first provincial assembly meeting of Province 3 concluded today in Hetauda deciding to elect the speaker in the next meeting scheduled for February 10.

Senior-most member Dormani Poudel scheduled the next meeting at 3:00pm on Saturday.

Province 3 PA, which has 110 lawmakers, the highest among the seven PAs, is the only PA that has held its meeting. Representatives of eight political forces were present in the meeting that approved the internal work plan to smoothly run the provincial assembly based on all-party meeting until the new PA regulations were drafted. The meeting also decided that in the absence of Paudel, Rameshwor Phuyal, Ghanashyam Dahal, Gita Shakya or Shobha Wagle would chair the meeting.

UML Vice-chairperson Astha Laxmi Shakya, CPN-MC leader Shalik Ram Jammarkattel, NC leader Indra Baniya, Ramesh Poudel of Bibeksheel Sajha Party, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party leader Surendra Raj Gosain, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Democratic) leader  Rina Gurung, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal’s Rita Majhi and Naya Shakti Party-Nepal’s Prem Bahadur Tamang were among those who spoke during the first meeting of the legislative assembly.
