POKHARA: A cabinet meeting of the Province 4 government has decided to initiate the summer session from May 30, 2018.

The second session will see completion of tasks left during the first session and endorsement of budget for the upcoming fiscal.

According to Secretary at Internal Affairs and Law Ministry, Fadindra Mani Pokharel, the summer session of the house will endorse necessary laws.

One working procedure and seven bills were endorsed during the first session of the provincial assembly. With the principle agreement from the cabinet to put forth 15 bills for discussions, the ministries are working to prepare first drafts of the bills.

Budget preparations amid uncertainty

Although the provincial government is uncertain regarding the sources of funds for the budget for upcoming fiscal, it has begun internal preparations to meet the budget announcement deadline of July 15, 2018.

However, the government has begun outlining the budget on the basis of equalisation grant provided by the central government to provincial ministries.
