Province 7 fixes remuneration of CM and Ministers

DHANGADHI: A cabinet meeting of Province 7 on Wednesday has come to terms over remuneration and benefits of Chief Minister, Ministers, and members of provincial assembly.

As per the decision, the CM will get a salary of Rs 62,970 per month while the monthly remuneration of ministers has been decided at Rs 54,000.

Likewise, the meeting also fixed salaries of province speaker, vice-speaker, opposition leader, whip and chairmen of different committees.

Speaker will receive a monthly pay cheque of Rs 56,500 whereas both vice-speaker and opposition leader will get Rs 65,250. Similarly, the meeting decided to set salary of Rs 62,700 for whip and chairmen of committees in provincial parliament.

Likewise, members of the parliament will get Rs 59,000 per month which will cover the accommodation cost as well.

Similarly, the meeting also decided to fix the travel and meeting allowances for CM, Ministers, Speaker, Vice-speaker and lawmakers.

"Our decision of pays and perks is based on the guidelines issued by government," said provincial government spokes person and Internal Affairs and Law Minister Prakash Bahadur Shah.

Currently there are seven ministries in the provincial government.

Meanwhile the same meeting also decided to appoint Kulananda Upadhyaye as Chief Attorney General of the Province.
