DHANGADHI: Province 7 CPN-UML chief whip Tara Lama Tamang sustained leg injuries after being hit by a bike in Dhangadhi, on Monday, police said.

Tamang, who was walking along the busy street in Dhangadhi this afternoon, sustained a broken bone in his left leg after being hit by the two-wheeler (Se 4 Pa 5091), according to police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bir Bahadur Buda, at the Kailali District Police Office said, "25-year-old motorcyclist Sailashwor Kunwar of Aacham district has been detained for further investigation."

The injured chief whip has been sent to Kathmandu for further treatment, police informed.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is underway.
