PKD heading to India tomorrow
Kathmandu, September 4
Former prime minister and Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has formally announced that he would be embarking on a six-day India visit, beginning on Thursday. He added that he would be visiting China also in September.
“My visits will focus on national interests and development,” Dahal told mediapersons at his residence today.
During his India visit, Dahal will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, communist party leaders and other top leaders before returning home on September 11.
According to Dahal, he will attend a programme in the Nepali Embassy in Delhi on Thursday and address a programme organised by Indian Council of World Affairs on Friday, followed by a luncheon meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Following the India visit, Dahal will leave for China on September 15 on a week-long visit at the invitation of the Communist Party of China.
In China, Dahal will meet top leaders, including President Xi Jinping, and discuss issues related to trade and transit, projects under the Belt and Road Initiative, reopening of the Tatopani border point and China’s development and governance system.
