Quake-resistant houses for victims

RAMECHHAP: Urban West Technical Management Service is all set to build 4,000 earthquake-resistant houses for quake victims in four VDCs of Ramechhap.

As per the information given at an all party meeting organised by UWTMS on Thursday, the houses will be built in Salu and Kathajor VDCs as well as Betali and Rasnalu VDCs.

“The houses will be built with support from KCI Group and USA,” said UWTMS Chief Shyamraj Pande. It has been learnt that the houses will be built in coordination with the concerned VDCs.

“Except for the DPC of the houses, everything else used in the construction will be based on Italian technology and the houses will be quake, sun and rain-proof,” said Pande, adding that construction of each house would cost nearly Rs 1.6 to Rs 1.8 million.
