Dalit NGO Federation (DNF) on Sunday asked the seven political parties to nominate Dalit candidates for both proportionate and direct election system to ensure 20 per cent participation of Dalits in the Constituent Assembly polls.

Speaking at a press conference organised by DNF, Bom Bahadur Bishwakarma, DNF general secretary, said the total population of Dalits according to the national data was 13 per cent while other data claimed Dalits form 20 per cent of the populace. “We want at least 20 per cent participation of Dalits in the CA,” he said.
