Rain accompanied by strong winds affect parts of country
KATHMANDU: The impact of westerly winds and local weather system led to rain accompanied by strong winds in various parts of the country, including Kathmandu valley, this morning.
The weather will continue to remain the same until Monday, said meteorologist Bibhuti Pokharel.
Many parts of the country have been affected by the change in weather. Light to heavy rainfall is taking place in various parts of the country at present.
This change in weather will develop gradually up until Monday, added Pokharel. The sky will clear and Kathmandu will see sunshine later in the afternoon while the weather will continue to remain gloomy in other parts of the country, said the Weather Forecasting Division.
In the morning, Kathmandu valley experienced 4.0 millimetres of rainfall. The weather bulletin of the Division for tonight shows that it will generally be cloudy throughout the country.
Thunderstorm along with gusty winds and lightning are likely to occur at some places of the eastern and central regions and in some areas of the western region.
Moreover, there are chances of light to moderate snowfall at some places of the high mountainous region.
