Rajarani in Morang popular among domestic tourists
MORANG: The historic Rani Lake in Rajarani has been a major tourist attraction in Morang district with a booming popularity and introduction of the home stay schemes.
The Rajarani Home Stay Management Committee Secretary Bishnu Kumar Magar said many domestic tourists were visiting Rajarani although it was traditionally an off-season.
The number of visitors to Rani Lake wanting to get a taste of the classic ambience of home stay is increasing by the day.
The Rani Lake is located at the Chure area of Lotang–Bhogateni Municipality. The added gloss of the natural environment around it is drawing holidaymakers from Biratnagar, Dharan, Damak and Dhankuta among other places in the country.
The domestic tourists not only arrive here to observe the Lake and book a night or more for home stay, but also to watch various kinds of the species of birds, according to Rajarani Lake Conservation Committee advisor Dilliman Tamang.
"The home stay scheme has contributed hugely in increasing the arrival of tourists," Tamang said. The Lake has expanded in around 32 hectares of area and is located 40 km north of the district headquarters Biratnagar.
Committee Chairman Gyani Maya Magar said the tourists visiting here are also briefed on the traditional dances and culture.
The tourists are also treated with sumptuous traditional dishes along with the type of accommodation they seek.
