Rajbiraj campus remains padlocked for three months over affiliation

Rajbiraj, June 8

Mahendra Bindeswori Multiple Campus has remained padlocked for the last three months in Rajbiraj, Saptari.

Struggle Committee had padlocked the campus for an indefinite period protesting the decision to separate the campus from Tribhuvan University and take affiliation from Rajarshee Janak University more than three months ago.

Teaching and non-teaching staffers at the campus are against the decision to take affiliation from Rajarshee Janak University. They halted all teaching-learning activities for the first three weeks but resumed the classes at the request of campus chief Sarbesh Chandra Mishra. However, the office of the campus chief still remains padlocked.

Struggle Committee coordinator Singheswor Prasad Yadav said though the campus had taken affiliation from Rajarshee Janak University, TU had yet to hand over the campus formally to RJU.

Yadav also said that the decision to separate the campus from TU had jeopardised the future of many teaching and non-teaching staffers of the campus.
