Kathmandu, November 20

Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal today decided to appoint its presidium member Rajendra Mahato as coordinator of the top body of the party with effect from tomorrow.

A meeting of the RJP-N presidium decided on the basis of majority to appoint the presidium coordinator from among presidium members on rotation basis as per the party statute, according to a statement issue by the party. The party said the decision was taken to ensure timely general convention, continue collective decision making in the top body of the party, take ahead the process of expanding the party organisation and ensure discipline among leaders and members of the party.

The meet also thanked outgoing presidium coordinator Rajendra Mahato, who has held the post ever since the party was formed, for his services.

The meeting also decided to scrap all appointments and nominations made in the party, recognising the central committee members’ list submitted to the election commission as the official list.
