Mahottari, October 10:

All teachers based in Mahottari district attended a procession organised in Jaleshwor, the district headquarters of Mahottari, to protest the killing of Nagendra Yadav, a teacher. The protest rally held at the call of the teachers’ bodies went around different places, including the Mahendra Chowk and Shanker Chowk.

The rallyists urged the government to declare Yadav a martyr and punish the killer. The teachers also chanted slogans in front of the district administration office. Cadres of the United Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha had killed Yadav at Ratnapur after abducting him from his house in Khuttapiparadhi, Mahottari, yesterday. Yadav was a teacher at a Khuttapiparadhi-based secondary school.

Meanwhile, president of the Nepal Teachers’ Association Mahottari Sushil Yadav demanded that Yadav be declared a martyr.
