Ransom sought for release

The Jwala Singh-led Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (JTMM) has demanded a ransom of Rs 1 million for the release of three officials whom JTMM activists abducted on Monday night.
Morang JTMM in-charge Bikram telephoned Sunsari Local Development Officer Krishna
Ojha last night and demanded the ransom, DDC sources said.
“Bikram telephoned at the house of an abductee, secretary of the Chhitaha VDC Somraj Bhattarai and demanded Rs 100,000 for the release of each member,” said Hari Bhattarai, a relative of Somraj.
JTMM activists headed by Bikram had kidnapped Parasu Ram Baidawar, Sunsari chief of the Department of Urban Development and Buildings, Chhitaha VDC secretary Saroj Bhattarai and Postal Office employee of Aurahi Post Office, Som Raj Pokhrel.
