JAJARKOT: Jajarkot District Court has convicted a youth of raping a 16-year-old girl for which he has been sentenced to five years in prison.

The convict has been identified as 27-year-old Hemraj Khadka.

A single bench of Justice Dev Kumar Giri slapped the imprisonment sentence along with an order to pay Rs 25,000 in compensation to the victim, court's Srestedar Meghnath Chapai informed.

It has been reported that the teenage victim was raped by Khadka in his own hotel on January 24.

The following day, police rounded up the perpetrator for questioning. Thereafter, the victim lodged an FIR clearly identifying the offender.
