KATHMANDU, MAY 14

Ruling alliance candidates are leading in four of the six metropolises - Lalitpur, Biratnagar, Bharatpur, and Birgunj.

The ruling alliance had earlier forged poll alliance in six metropolitan and 11 sub-metropolitan cities.

As per the initial vote count tallies, in Kathmandu, independent candidate for mayor, Balen Shah, is leading the race. Until 8:00pm today, rapper Shah has scored 386 votes. UML candidate Keshav Sthapit trails Shah with 351 votes. NC candidate Srijana Singh has scored 219 votes.

In Lalitpur, NC candidate for mayor Chiribabu Maharjan, who is the common candidate of the ruling alliance, leads the race with 110 votes.

UML candidate Hari Krishna Byanjankar trails Maharjan with 47 votes.

In Biratnagar, NC candidate for mayor Nagesh Koirala, who is a common candidate of the ruling alliance, is leading the race with 419 votes. UML candidate Sagar Thapa trails Koirala with 296 votes. Independent candidate Umesh Kumar Yadav has scored 111 votes.

In Bharatpur, CPN-MC candidate Renu Dahal leads the race with 116 votes. UML candidate Bijay Subedi is trailing Dahal with 110 votes.

Independent candidate Jagannath Paudel has scored 35 votes. In Pokhara, UML candidate for mayor Krishna

Thapa leads the race with 61 votes. CPN (Unified Socialist) candidate Dhanraj Acharya, who is supported by the ruling alliance, trails Thapa with 50 votes. In Birgunj Municipality, Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal candidate for mayor Rajeshman Singh, who is supported by the ruling alliance, has scored 79 out of 150 votes counted in Ward 31.

UML's Bijay Sarabagi has scored 53 votes. RPP's Girish Giri has got only two votes.
