Rajbiraj, August 31:

A rat has been sitting in front of the idol of Lord Ganesh in a temple in Rajbiraj-7 for days. According to scriptures, rat is the vehicle of Ganesh.

The white rat, spotted on August 17, has been sitting in front of the Ganesh Temple, said priest Birendra Upadhyay. When the rat feels hungry, it comes on the temple premises, eats dubo and goes back to its seat again.

The rat does not move anywhere even when devotees visit the temple. Surprisingly, the rat patiently observes at the devotees activities like offering fruits and flowers.

People have been thronging the temple since yesterday to see the rodent. Popular interest has not scared the rat away, Upadhyay added.
