Drone patrols launched in Gaur to monitor crime, border activities and traffic violations

Rautahat Police have begun using drone surveillance over Gaur and surrounding areas to strengthen security, monitor criminal activities and improve law enforcement through modern technology.
The District Police Office said drones have been conducting aerial patrols since Thursday as part of efforts to deter crime and enhance public safety in the district headquarters.
Superintendent of Police Sitaram Rijal said the drones are being used to monitor suspected criminal activities, drug trafficking, illegal cross-border trade, reckless motorcycle riding, public disturbances and other security threats in sensitive areas.
He said police teams remain on standby around the clock and can be dispatched immediately based on live drone footage and intelligence gathered during aerial patrols.
SP Rijal expressed confidence that the use of drone technology would make crime prevention and investigation more effective while improving security in urban areas.
Police have urged the public to comply with traffic regulations and avoid activities that disturb public order, warning that legal action will be taken against violators based on video evidence collected through drone surveillance.
