RAUTAHAT: A 21-year-old woman who had gone to take a dip in a pond in Bagahi VDC of Rautahat drowned, on Thursday.

The Rautahat District Police Office has identified the deceased as Seema Sahani (21) of Bagahi VDC-1 in the district.

Locals had successfully rescued Sahani, but to no avail, as unconscious Shani died on the way to Gaur District Hospital, informed DSP Nabin Krishna Bhandari.

Bhandari further said the body was later handed over to relatives after autopsy at the District Hospital.
