Rayamajhi asks House to fulfil promises
Nepalgunj, June 15 :
The coordinator of the high-level Judicial Probe Commission, Krishna Jung Rayamajhi, has said that the recently reinstated House of Representative should fulfil its commitment of implementing the recommendations of the commission.
Speaking at a programme in Nepalgunj today, Rayamajhi said, “Though the government and the seven-party leaders are saying that they will implement the recommendations of the commission honestly, the commitment of the House is not evident as yet.”
Rayamajhi added that if the report was not implemented, the people would not forgive. If the government and parliament do not implement it, I will not remain silent.
He pointed out that there was no sector, including the army and police which did not come under the purview of the commission. He said the commission would not engender dispute or create the condition of impunity. If anybody is found violating the law, action will be taken, he added.
Referring to the Jana Andolan, Rayamajhi said the achievement of Jana Andolan was that of the people.
urged for bringing about change through Jana Andolan, adding that even the Constitution could not spawn such change.
Rayamajhi is in Banke to probe into the incidents of violation of human rights during the recent Jana Andolan.
A team of the commission visited Bheri Zonal Hospital and has met the injured there.
The injured were sent to the capital today. The team also gleaned information from the families of martyrs, seven political parties and other stakeholders about atrocities unleashed on agitators during the time of the Jana Andolan.
