Relief materials provided to 900 flood-affected families in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ: As many as 900 flood-affected families have been provided with various relief materials in Sakarpura of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality in Saptari district on Saturday.

The relief goods were distributed to these families under the flood-affected support programme run in partnership of the Government of Nepal, China Aid, UNDP and Sabal Nepal.

Each family was given Supanet (mosquito net treated with mosquito repellent chemical), cooking stove, blankets, water filter, big bucket, soap and brush among other materials, informed Prameshwar Jha of Sabal Nepal.

Thousands of houses in the settlement were swept away by massive flood in August last year.

Meanwhile, the Dharmi Halfa Women Development Club, a local NGO, distributed warm clothes to 101 helpless people and people with disabilities living in destitution and vulnerable to cold at Rajbiraj Municipality-13 on Saturday.

The warm clothes were provided with the support of Help Nepal Network, according to Surya Narayan Yadav, President of the Club.
