Report on local bodies restructuring by the end of Dashain
KATHMANDU: The Local Bodies Restructuring Commission would work during the Dashain holidays also and submit its final report by the end of Dashain, October 16, its chairperson, Balananda Paudel said on Friday.
According to Paudel, the Commission already received preliminary reports from 48 districts, while it was still awaiting report from 27 others.
"Reports received from 40 districts are on the final stage. Eight among them which had some shortcomings were sent back to the technical committees in the respective districts for revision," he said at the Reporters Club in Kathmandu today.
The committees in 27 districts have been told to finish their work as soon as possible, he informed, adding that if the reports were delayed then the Commission itself would work on the restructuring.
Adhering to the spirit of the Constitution, Paudel said, the Commission prepared sketched out approximately 565 local bodies.
