Reports of shying away from unification baseless: Dahal

CHITWAN: CPN Maoist Centre Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal today brushed off the reports of enjoying his leisure skirting the unification of the Maoist Centre and CPN-UML as baseless.

“I am not here just to spend my time. I came here after consultations with UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli. There is no doubt party unification will take place,” he said while speaking at a programme organised today by the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science, Rampur to congratulate and give best wishes to the newly elected parliament and provincial members.

In a different context, the former Prime Minister said he was making efforts to resolve the issue related to the ownership of physical property between the Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) and the Tribhuvan University. “The AFU should be developed as a centre of excellence,” he said.

On the occasion, newly elected parliamentary member Krishna Bhakta Pokharel stressed the need for developing the AFU as a model university, while the university Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ishwori Prasad Dhakal informed about the situation of the university.
